Do you enjoy RV gear and gadgets and like to write? If so, consider signing up for the Outdoor Miles Gear Review Program. As part of the program, you’ll receive a specific item to use and put it through the paces. Then, you’ll use the product just as you would if you purchased it yourself and write an honest review about it.
Outdoor Miles is working to build relationships with different brands and stores to put products in the hands of RVers. In addition, the program aims to develop product reviews for various RV and camping-related gear, gadgets, and tools.
To apply to become a reviewer, you will need to meet a few eligibility requirements:
Enjoy writing and education: All gear reviewers will be asked to submit a sample review of a product you own that relates to the RV and camping lifestyle. We’ll check the review for content, style, and educational value. If you’ve never written a review before, no worries. We’ll provide you with a template and feedback to help you through the process.
Use the product: This is important! When we have a product to review, we want to ensure that it is put through the paces and functions as advertised. We want to know the good and the bad and if things need improvement. The purpose of the review is to help others learn about the product and make an informed decision before they buy it. Therefore, we ask that all reviewers only accept a review assignment if they can test it out in a timely fashion.
Be honest: In a world where reviews are a dime a dozen, Outdoor Miles wants to ensure that we provide unbiased information about the products we review. If a product is excellent, we want to share that with others. However, if it falls short of your expectations, we want to communicate that as well.

How do I apply?
To apply for the program, simply complete the application form located here. Make sure you fill it out completely. After you submit your application, we’ll get back to you to discuss the next steps and submit your sample review.
What types of products will I review?
You can let us know about specific types of products that you’re interested in reviewing in the application. Since we don’t know what products will be available, we can’t say for sure. However, we’ll do our best to match you up with a product that meets your interests. You’ll be able to accept or refuse any review request before we send it to you.
Can I keep the product when I’m done?
For most reviews, you’ll be able to keep the product after the review. In the rare event that the manufacturer requests that we return the item after the review, we’ll let you know when we send you the review opportunity. You do not need to accept if you don’t want to.
Will I get paid to do the review?
To maintain our reviews’ integrity, we do not accept money to review a product through this program. However, we anticipate that the incentive of using and keeping the product will make it worth your while.
Can I do a video review?
Absolutely! While we require that all reviews have a writing component, if you want to add a video, that’s awesome. Some items are better demonstrated by visually showing how it works.
When will I get my first review opportunity?
Outdoor Miles is working to develop relationships with various brands and manufacturers to offer this program. Our first step is to get a core team of reviewers on board to hit the ground running when products become available. Since this is a new program for spring 2022, we hope to have multiple opportunities available for the upcoming camping season.
How long will I have to review a product?
The review time will depend on the type of product you receive. If it’s easily reviewed after a few uses, we will typically provide a few weeks to complete the review after receiving the product. However, some items will require longer timeframes for the review, especially if we want to assess their durability of repeated use. We’ll discuss the expectations before a review offer is accepted.
What happens after I submit a review?
Once you finish your review, you’ll submit it to Outdoor Miles. We may do some editing or reformatting, but we’ll discuss it with you before we publish it. Also, we’ll need copies of all pictures and videos if you have them. Once the review goes through the editing process, it will be posted on the www.outdoormiles.com website and YouTube if there is a video component. Your name will be listed as the author (you can use a pen name if you want to stay incognito).
